The close binding of the lower and higher clause with
these verbs is shown in relativisation
of a compound clause where clitic cross-referencing on
the lower verb is omitted, just
as for a relative clause with a simple predicate:
(9-116) nyan ureueng nyang=ka=(*ji=)tamöng universitas
that person REL IN (3) enter university
That is the person who has
entered university.
This is not the case in other types of complementation;
see (9-127), (9-128) below.
These non-controlled complement verbs can occur in
series of more than one:
(9-117) ka=rap =geu=meu'ue baroe
IN almost 3 plough yesterday
He almost ploughed
yesterday.
(9-118) ka=jeuet=]i=taaöng ie lam=blang
IN can 3 enter water i n rice field
The water can get into the
rice field now.
