He who is killed while defending his property is a martyr

رياض الصالحين بالعربية والإنجليزية - (ج 1 / ص 1721)

 وعن عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنهما قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم : [ من قتل دون ماله فهو شهيد ] متفق عليه

Translate:

`Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who is killed while defending his property is a martyr.''

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary:

The Hadith highlights the fact that whoever gets killed in an effort to protect his property is a martyr.
